Talk Books

2014-06-23 12.27.01

Share your favorite childhood book with your kids. Dig deep into your memories and give details not only about the book, but your feelings as you read it.

Discuss how your book is different or the similar to what they have read.

Talk about genre. For instance, would you consider A Wrinkle In Time as a work of science fiction or fantasy. Some actually call it science fantasy.

How about talking writing style. The way older books were written is much different than today’s prose. Or what makes a book a classic and give examples. What does that gold seal mean?

This bonding time is precious.
